Tour Details
Cambodia is a country of unique charm and cultural heritage known across the globe for its incredible natural beauty, breath-taking temples, fertile rice fields, and rich and fascinating history. But with so much to see and do outside of Angkor, a vacation to Cambodia can be a lot more than just temples. With a long coastline and rugged countryside, the natural delights of Cambodia are every bit as appealing as those of its neighbors, from jungle treks to beach holidays. Cambodian people are also remarkable, offering a unique warmth and friendliness that is even more special considering their recent dark history. A tour of the inspiring temples of Angkor will transport you into a world frozen in time and is without a doubt one of the world´s most spectacular sites. Itinerary

Day 01 ARRIVE AT PHNOM PENH

Arriving at Phnom Penh International airport in Phnom Penh, you’ll be met and driven to your hotel. In the evening, you'll enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Day 02 PHNOM PENH SIGHTSEEING

The day will be taken to visit the National Museum where 5000 objects are exhibited including Angkorian era statues, lingas and artefacts – most notably the legendary statue of the 'Leper King". You'll call in at the Royal Palace and the nearby Silver Pagoda. After lunch, your guide will show you Wat Phnom and the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum. You’ll have time to relax at your hotel before a sunset cruise on the Chatomouk River. Dinner at Indian restaurant. Your overnight accommodation will be in Phnom Penh.

Day 03 PHNOM PENH – BATTAMBANG

Transfer to Battambang province (The distance from Phnom Penh is 291 km, crossing the provinces Kandal, Kompong Chnnang and Posat, and will take around 4 hrs). En-route, you’ll stop at Kampong Chnang for a short cruise to visit Cambodia’s largest floating village, and visit a local traditional hand-made pottery village. Arriving at the colonial town of Battambang, you’ll check-in to your hotel. Dinner at Indian restaurant. Overnight in Battambang.

Day 04 BATTAMBANG CYCLING DAY

After breakfast, you’ll have a guided tour of the city, before taking your bicycle to ride the narrow roads to the ‘Bamboo Train Station’, where you’ll board a bamboo ‘train’ for the 8 km journey through the beautiful landscape, passing local houses and rice paddies. Disembarking, you’ll then continue with an Ox-cart ride to visit an ancient house and agricultural village, growing rice and a variety of naturally-grown tropical fruits. After lunch at a local farmer’s house, you’ll visit “La Maison de Coco”, specializing in silk and rattan weaving, before returning to Battambang. The remainder of the day will free at leisure. Dinner at Indian restaurant. Overnight in Battambang.

Day 05 BATTAMBANG – SIEM REAP

After breakfast, you’ll be driven to Siem Reap, stopping en-route to visit the Silk Farm at Phouk, where you can observe the entire silk creation process from the growing of mulberry bushes and breeding of silk worms, through to the finished product. Arriving in Siem Reap at around noon, you’ll check-in to your hotel with the remainder of the day free at your leisure. Dinner at Indian restaurant. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 06 SIEM REAP - ANGKOR WAT TOUR

After breakfast, you’ll visit Angkor Thom, starting with the Bayon, a bizarre structure of several architectural changes reflecting a switch from Hinduism (the foundations) to Buddhism (the superstructure). Your next visit will be to the Elephant and Leper King Terraces followed by the Baphoun Temple, which is now nearing the end of an eight-year multi-million dollar restoration program. In the afternoon, you’ll explore Angkor Wat itself, the largest, and for most people, the most impressive temple in the complex after which you can watch the sunset from the top of Phnom Bakheng Hill. Dinner at Indian restaurant. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 07 SIEM REAP - ANGKOR WAT TOUR

Your day will be taken up with visits to some of the outer sites including Preah Khan, a huge monastic complex, Neak Pean, a Himalayan-style lake and sanctuary, and East Mebon, a temple-mountain. After lunch, you’ll also see Ta Prohm, strangled by massive tree roots and typical of the condition of the whole complex when it was discovered in 1860 by French naturalist Henri Mouhot. Your guide will then show you the Prasat Kravan (also known as the Cardomom Sanctuary) and Srah Srang lake and landing terrace. The Srah Srang is less touristy and could be a sunrise alternative to Angkor Wat. Dinner at Indian restaurant. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 08 BENG MELEA TEMPLE - TONLE SAP LAKE TOUR

After breakfast, your guide and driver will drive you 50 km through the countryside, the rice fields alongside the Kulen Mountain range to Beng Mealea Temple complex. Beng Mealea is almost the size of Angkor Wat and is one of the largest ensembles built during the Khmer reign but is still seldom visited. Its galleries, pools, libraries and sanctuary lie under fig-tree roots and creepers and are waiting to be discovered. The decoration of Beng Mealea is simple but you can still find bas-reliefs showing scenes from the Khmer Mythology. You’ll have a picnic lunch before driving back to Siem Reap in the afternoon. There, you’ll embark on a boat trip on Tonle Sap Lake, a natural reservoir that partly controls the level of floods in the Mekong Delta, and visit a floating fishing village en-route. For the reminder of the day you will be free to explore the city. Dinner at Indian restaurant. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 09 DEPARTURE FROM SIEM REAP

After breakfast, you will be free until check out your hotel and in a good time, drive to the airport for your departure flight.
