Arrival at the Rome International airport. Meet & greet with your assistant and transfer by private coach to the hotel. Check-in to hotel and relax.
Afternoon dedicated to the guided visit of city centre to admire the famous squares, baroque buildings and the magnificent fountains: Navona Square, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Campo de’ Fiori, Farnese Square. At the end of the visit, come back to the hotel. Dinner at restaurant. An overnight stay at Rome.
After breakfast departure to Vatican City. Guided visit of the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter Basilica. The tour starts from Vatican Museums: we enter the Pinecone Courtyard, crossing the collection of Greek and Roman sculpture, admiring the famous statue of Apollus, the Laocoon and the Belvedere Torso, the statues of animals, the Coffins of St. Helen and St. Constance, the Galleries of Tapestries and the frescoed Maps of all Italy painted in 1585. The rooms painted by Raphael and his pupils, ending with the amazing Michelangelo’s Sixtine Chapel.
Afterward the tour will lead you inside the highest temple of Christendom: St. Peter’s Basilica with the Pietà by Michelangelo, the Jubilee Gate, Bernini’s main altar, the staircase enlightened by eternal lamps leading to the tomb of Saint Peter. In the afternoon guided visit of the ancient Rome including olosseum and Roman Forum. Dinner in a typical restaurant in Trastevere. An overnight stay at Rome.
After breakfast, departure to Naples. At arrival guided visit of the “Partenopea” city and its historical centre to admire the Plebiscito Square, the Royal Palace, the Gallery of Umberto I and the San Carlo Opera House. Lunch in a typical “Pizzeria” to taste the real Napolitan pizza. Departure to Pompeii, for a guided visit of the excavations of this ancient Roman city which was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvio in 79 b.C. and buried under 4 to 6 meters of ash and stones. At the end of the visit, proceed to Sorrento, a charming town of the Sorrentine Peninsula famous for the cultivation of oranges, lemons and olives trees. Dinner and overnight at the hotel
After breakfast departure for an unforgettable excursion to Capri Island. Depart by boat to Capri Island and full day visit to admire the natural beauties and the charming atmosphere: the Augustus Gardens, the famous Piazzetta. In the afternoon, return to Sorrento by ferry boat. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, departure to discover the Amalfi coast, enjoying magnificent views of Positano and other picturesque fishing villages. Arrival in Amalfi and walking through its pretty streets arriving to the 10th-century Duomo with its colourful facade. Lunch in restaurant. The panoramic tour proceeds to Ravello to admire the ancient fortified castle, Piazza Vescovado, Cathedral and take pictures of the beautiful view along Amalfi Coast. At the end of the visit, return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
After breakfast departure to Caserta. Guided visit of the Royal Palace and its gardens, Unesco World Heritage. Lunch in restaurant near the Palace and departure to Rome. Arrival in hotel, dinner and overnight.
After breakfast we reach the entrance of the Vatican Museums for the guided visit of the richest collection of antiquities in the world. Among the treasures that you will visit are the famous sculpture of the Laoocoon, the Raphael Rooms (part of the private papal apartment of Pope Julius II) and the astonishing Sistine Chapel, frescoed by Michelangelo and thought to be the largest body of painting executed solely by one artist, considered the greatest masterpiece of Western Art. Arriving at St. Peter’s Square, the visitor is immediately impressed by the size of the memorable square facing St. Peter’s, surrounded by the magnificent four-row colonnade masterpiece of Gian Lorenzo Bernini.
Only when one gets inside the basilica, slowly climbing up the sweeping three flights of steps designed by Bernini, one will be truly amazed by the size and splendour of the largest church in the world, the symbol of Christianity, extending over a total of about 22,000 sqm. It is possible to reach the top of the Cupola climbing 330 steps: once up there the view of the square below and of Rome is unforgettable.
The church contains the masterpieces of important artists: the 29 m. high bronze baldachin by Bernini, the Pietà by Michelangelo, the tomb of Clement XIII by Canova and the mosaic of the Navicella by Giotto, located above the middle entrance to the Portico. Free time for lunch.
In the afternoon our local guide will take you on a pleasant stroll through the historical centre, where you can admire the Trevi Fountain, where, to ensure your coming back to Rome, you can’t miss throwing a coin in the water, the Colonna of Marco Aurelio, Palazzo di Montecitorio, designed by Bernini, the Pantheon (visit inside) the best conserved Roman temple and a symbol of the western architecture, Palazzo Madama - seat of the senate, and Piazza Navona decorated with the famous River Fountain, a masterpiece of the Baroque style designed by Bernini. Dinner at restaurant. An overnight stay at Rome.
After breakfast, packing up your bags and take the leave from your hotel and you will be directly transferred to the Rome International airport from where you can fly back to your homeland.
